a letter to my readers, who are few in number but hearty in spirit (12 comments)

Dearest readers,

After churning out 63 posts in a few short weeks, I soon discovered that William Dembski is a prolific blogger, a man who, for having so much self-important work to do, has inordinate amounts of time to both post drivel and police (and edit and delete, mostly delete) comments on his blog.

It is fairly easy to say whatever one wants, to link to crap, to bloviate. It is much more difficult--especially for a reconstituted ethereal spirit--to respond to such bloviation in a rational or angry or witheringly critical way. Especially since it is not my only afterlife activity (read: I have other blogging obligations). I have not been able to keep up, and to maintain any sort of standard of quality, a consideration that obviously troubles not gallant Dembski.

I ask you, dear readers, should I keep this blog afloat?

Yours,

T.H.

  • Yes, but don't feel obligated to post in high quantity. The beauty of syndication is that when you post something new, we get it automatically. We need more voices sticking up for science against those that wish to redefine it.

  • Your wit and insight are AWESOME. you make me laugh wiht each post. But i'll understand if you cannot keep it up. Billy-boy's kinda not worth the effort. But he sure is fun to lampoon.

  • What about just posting a header and a link to Dembski's blog and letting your commenters do most of the dirty work, when you don't have the time?

  • I like the way you think, croze. When I don't have time to be eloquent and vitriolic, I'll leave it to smart chaps like yourself.

  • I realize blogging by scrapping and tapping on the inside of a coffin lid is tiresome and overtime may lead to wear and tear on the coffin lining but someone must provide an open venue to comment on Dembski’s world. Perhaps a little more advertising by the small but hearty readership would help.

Has the site been announced at Panda’s Thumb?

  • Please continue. No need to try to match quantity with quantity. After all, you're the only one interested in quality.

  • Mr Huxley, your blog is a beautiful thing. But don't try to keep up with Dembski - the man has to blog so much to keep his readers informed of his research.

  • Good Reverend Schmitt,

I nearly hacked out a rib-bone from laughter. Well done.

  • Please, T.H. don't disappear back into the annals of history. We enjoy your thoughts too much.

  • Only one mention of me on this whole damn page and then you wonder why it has so little following. Amazing.

  • anonymous,

Even a turd floats in the toilet. (How droll! How self-deprecating!)
